The history of LAKEDAIMONION does not begin in a modern office or a meeting room—it is lost in the depths of centuries, in the culture of the Lacedaemonians.
Inspired by the descriptions of Plutarch and Cicero during the ancient Olympic Games, an elderly man sought a place to watch the competitions. Most ignored or mocked him. But when he reached the Lacedaemonians’ section, everyone stood up and offered him their seats. Moved, he uttered the phrase that became immortalized in history:
"Hoi men alloi Hellenes isasi ta deonta, Lacedaemoni de kai poiousin."
(All other Greeks know what is right, but the Lacedaemonians do it.)
This phrase forms the core of our philosophy:
It is not enough to know what is right. You must put it into practice.
In this same land of the Lacedaemonians, which taught respect through action, great figures emerged who left their mark on history, such as Chilon the Lacedaemonian, Lycurgus the Lawgiver, King Leonidas with the 300, and the Beautiful Helen.

Leonidas and the 300 at Thermopylae symbolize courage, discipline, and absolute devotion to duty. And Helen, the Beautiful Queen of the Lacedaemonians and an enduring symbol of beauty, expresses the radiance that stems from wellness and eû zên—living well.
